The ancestral seat of the Prussian Royal House and of the Hohenzollern Princes, Burg Hohenzollern, since December 2022 is better accessible. During the renovation of the castle walls also an elevator was added. Next to the Adlertor, the entrance gate to the castle, a plateau was added and a 25 metres high elevator shaft. Now people don’t need to climb 300 metres anymore, but can take the elevator, that takes up to 33 visitors at once to the bastion of the Burg Hohenzollern. It only takes 19 seconds.
The first visitors could try out the elevator just before Christmas 2022, among them Prince Georg Friedrich of Prussia, the chef of the Royal House of Prussia, and his wife Princess Sophie.
