On 29 January 2023 the new exhibition “Craftsmanship at the Royal Palace – 200 years of creations” opens at Queen Sonja Art Stable in Oslo, that is located in the former Royal Stables. The exhibition can be visited until 17 September 2023. On display is a selection of beautiful handcrafted objects from the Norwegian Royal Collections.

It emphasizes the importance of traditional crafts and provides insight into how these objects were made, as well as how they are still used and cared for today.

The Queen Sonja Art Stable opened on 5 July 2017, on the occasion of the 80th birthday of Queen Sonja of Norway. She was gifted the Royal Stables by her husband. Until World War II the stables were used to keep horses.
